How to split a PDF

1

Upload your PDF

Drop your PDF into the box above or click to browse. No sign-up required — nothing is uploaded.

2

Choose split mode

Split into every individual page, or enter a page range to extract a specific portion of the document.

3

Download

All pages are packaged into a ZIP file for download. Page ranges produce a single PDF file.

Split vs. Extract — what's the difference?

Split PDF divides a document into separate output files — every single page, or a continuous page range. It's the right tool when you want to pull apart an entire document or cut out a block of pages.

Extract Pages lets you pick individual non-consecutive pages (e.g. pages 1, 4, and 7) into a new single PDF. Use it when you need to cherry-pick specific pages rather than a continuous block.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extract a specific page range?

Yes. Choose the page range option and enter your start and end page numbers. The result is a single PDF containing those pages.

What format are the split files?

When splitting into all pages, you receive a ZIP file containing one PDF per page, named sequentially. For a page range, you get a single PDF.

Is there a page limit?

No enforced limit. Very large PDFs may take longer on older devices, but there is no page cap.

Are my files private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser with pdf-lib. Your PDF never leaves your device at any point.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

If the PDF requires a password to open, use Unlock PDF first to remove the password, then split it.
